Bio

Igor was born in the South Western region of Ukraine, close to the birthplace of his favorite composer, Sergej Prokofiev.

He began formal education of his beloved vocation by studying classical guitar at the [name of] music school from the age of twelve. He then continued his education and training in Donetsk, the capital city of Donbass, where he attended The Donetsk Musical College. Here, he progressed further into the realms of classical guitar with his compositions and orchestrations for a folk ensemble at the college.

After graduating from College and finishing two years of obligatory military service as a tank commander, Igor went onto study jazz guitar and composition at the Rachmaninov Conservatoire in Rostov-on-Don, Russia. During this time, he became a skilful and prolific composer and arranger, writing music for his own bands, as well as for local theatres.

Meanwhile, Igor became well known for his proficiency as a session guitar player and a successful guitar teacher, who ran guitar technique workshops and organised concerts for young musicians.

After coming to England and settling in London he continued to compose music for films, television and commercials. Here, he earned a Postgraduate Diploma with Distinction at the London College of Music, majoring in "Composing for Film and TV".

At that time he studied classical composition with John McLeod and received critical acclaim for his score of the film "A Breath of Dust", directed by Nassim Abassi, shown at the National Film Theatre.

While keeping himself busy in the music scene, Igor continued as an active guitar teacher. During this time, he taught pupils of different ages in state schools and private colleges in and around the London area, including Eltham College, Windsor Boys School and Windsor Girls School, among others. He also worked for Berkshire Maestros as a guitar teacher.

In 2011 Igor started working as a show-band guitarist on cruise ships, earning himself the position of music director for

Regent Seven Seas and Oceania cruise lines.

At present, Igor is combining work as a classical and electric session guitar player, as a freelance composer, arranger and producer, and as a music director and band leader for cruise line ships.
